German Solar Association opposes protectionism

The German Solar Association (DGS) has come out against the idea that some protectionist measures should be introduced in the country's Renewable Energy Act to protect German companies from unfair competition from abroad, especially Asia. As the DGS put it, "German manufacturers have to compete with quality, longer warranties, and better service." („Die deutschen Hersteller müssen durch Qualität, längere Garantien und besseren Service punkten")

It's amazing -- North Americans complain about using taxpayer money to fund foreign manufacturers all the time, but Germans seem quite content sticking to the free-trade rules that everyone (especially North Americans) have agreed to.
